About the fabric
The shimmer in tissue comes from a metallic thread woven into the weft, not from a finish applied afterwards. Ours is a semi-silk blend and we do not sell it as pure silk. The silk is sourced from Golghar market in Varanasi.
Which occasions this suits
Navratri, Diwali, festive evenings and daytime pujas. Orange is one of the nine Navratri colours — check the published list for the current year before committing to a specific day.
For garba, choose georgette, soft silk or Maheshwari cotton instead. Tissue is the heaviest fabric we carry and it is the wrong choice for dancing.
Styling
Bottle green and deep teal contrast best against orange-gold. Antique gold or temple gold jewellery. Avoid red and rani pink — too close in temperature to read as contrast.
Care
Dry clean for the first two or three wears, then hand wash cold with mild liquid detergent. Never machine wash, never wring, never hang wet silk. Lay flat in shade.
