About the fabric
Tissue takes its shimmer from a metallic weft woven into the fabric. This is a semi-silk blend, not pure silk, and the product page will always say so. Sourced from Golghar market in Varanasi.
Which occasions this suits
Receptions, sangeet, engagements and Diwali evenings. Turquoise is also a good wedding-guest colour — festive without going anywhere near bridal shades.
Styling
Turquoise is a cool tone, so this is one of the sarees where silver genuinely competes with gold. Silver, white gold or pearl all work. For the blouse: gold, antique gold, ivory or a deeper teal. Avoid an exact turquoise match, which flattens it in photographs.
Care
Dry clean for the first two or three wears, then hand wash cold with a mild liquid detergent. Never machine wash. Lay flat to dry in shade, never hang wet silk. Iron on low with a cotton cloth between, never directly on the zari.
